Did you try to get a $10 iPad through Fabfind's recent offer? Lots of people did, and lots of people were quite upset about how the entire thing was run and executed. I posted this offer here on Canadian Daily Deals the moment that I heard about it because it was such an awesome promotion. The hits to my blog were absolutely insane that day. I also followed several message boards where people expressed their various opinions of the entire thing, it caused a lot of upset throughout. Personally, I never expected to get an iPad, but I did try and was unsuccessful. There was also lots of discussion about how the winners of the iPad were tied to the marketing/website industry, even an employee at NOW magazine received an iPad. Fabfind originally disclosed that they would offer anywhere between 10-100 iPads on the day of the sale, but would not admit how many they actually had until recently, they had 12. Fabfind created a huge buzz about their company, gained many new members, as well as building up their social community on sites like Twitter and Facebook, so they were definitely successful in what they seeked out to do. But at that result? People all over have claimed they will boycott the site, and others have even claimed this will kill the company. What do you think?Yesterday, I read on the Listen to Lena website that Fabfind is offering 200 points to those customers who were disgruntled about the offer as a thank you. This is their way to make things better. All you have to do is send an email to support@fabfind.com and put "I'm a customer. Treat me right" in the subject header and you will receive 200 rewards points for free. You can then use those points on later purchases. I emailed Fabfind last night and had the CEO personally write me back. This is pretty good customer service and I appreciate their attempt to make things right. The Fabfind CEO also described his opinion of the entire event on Listen to Lena's website, you can read all about it at the link below.
