Air Miles Canada Program Changes As Of December 31, 2011 New Expiry Policy and Air Miles Cash

If you're an Air Miles collector, you may have heard about the changes coming to the Air Miles Canada program, or if you haven't yet, here are all the details. If you're a passive user that redeems regularly (as I am) the changes will not affect you a whole lot, but if you are saving up for a flight 5 years may not be enough time to accumulate enough.

1. Starting December 31, 2011 all Air Miles reward miles in your account will have a date stamp of 5 years. This means that any reward miles that you have earned before December 31, 2011 will need to be redeemed by December 31, 2016.

2. Reward miles you earn after December 31, 2011 will need to be redeemed 5 years from when they are posted. example you earned 12 reward miles on August 2, 2013, they must be used by September 30, 2018.

3. Air Miles Cash is a new program feature that enables collectors to instantly redeem their reward miles in-store on their many everyday purchases at participating sponsors starting March 2012.  95 reward miles = $10
