Huge news for those of you awaiting the opening of Target in Canada! Target announced the locations of their first 24 stores in Canada today as written in an article in the Toronto Star. Target will have "a big footprint in the GTA after it's first round of store opening in Canada in Spring 2013", that is definitely true, there will be four in Toronto, and seven more in the GTA. Stores are estimated to open in March or April 2013. Target purchased 189 Zellers stores in early 2011 to make room for these new Target stores, they are spending $10-$11 million to renovate each location. There are 135 Target stores planned for Canada.Here is a list of the first Target locations:

ReplyDeleteThe Zellers store is closing here, leaving us with NO department store at all. They sold their lease to Canadian Tire....go figure!
