Updated Post here on what happened!Dealticker is once again offering TOMS shoes for the discounted price of $29 (+12 shipping) on their daily deals site (value $65) These come in your choice of Grey, Green or Apricot. The site they are coming form is e-Accessories.ca, which is not an authorized re-seller of these products, which means that they will NOT donate a pair to Africa (this information comes straight from a TOMS affiliate rep). Part of the appeal of TOMS is that they donate.
I posted this deal last time, before knowing the full details about what this was, I ordered a pair myself (I own a pair of actual TOMS shoes) and have still not received my pair (this was in April). There is more information on e-Accessories.ca online if you google it. I also wrote comments about this on Dealticker's website and they prompted deleted my comment about not receiving the shoes last time and how the reseller is not authorized, perhaps they don't want their members to know?
If you buy these shoes, please be aware of this. I got a pair a few months ago at Urban Outfitters for $55 + tax, these will cost you $41 and are most likely not legitimate.
Click here to see the deal (do not order).
Hey Justine,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing scams like these--I'm sorry that you still haven't received your pair, but thank you for warning your readers about them!
Thanks for the heads up
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteJust wondering what Dealticker's response was to you? Have they issued you a refund? I've seen some deals that have been questionable from various sites, but most of them seem to have a policy where they back up their deals if something should happen.
When I asked dealticker about the authenticity of the shoes I got this response "We have been assured by the merchant that these were genuine TOMS shoes. If you'd would like to discuss the authenticity in detail further with the merchant uou can feel free to do so by visiting their website http://www.e-accessories.ca/Contact_us and submitting a message."
DeleteAnd the response from the reseller (e-accessories) "We purchase from a distributor of the shoes, and they have always provided us with genuine articles. We are not, however, authorized retailers of the shoes, so we can't provide you with the TOMS warranty. We do offer our own 30-day exchange policy."
DeleteThanks for the warning, I was going to buy these, but won't now.
ReplyDeleteThat's harsh that they would promote this and not ship them for so long and not run the deal through a reputable reseller. No thanks dealticker.
ReplyDeleteDarn I had already ordered a pair. I thought it seemed too good to be true.
ReplyDeleteI ordered a pair already too, I feel like an idiot. Hopefully I end up getting SOMETHING.
ReplyDeletethe something that you will get is not wearable, trust me. The worst most uncomfortable shoe ever. I was referred to eaccessories by dealticker, and neither company will budge for any kind of return or refund. Both stating that the shoes shipped out have undergone rigourous testing and authenticating. I stated that the sole comes out which in a snap means they are not Toms. They just replied back that they are assuridly authentic and there is no refund to be allowed.
