    Have you ordered lately? The last page before hitting the order button specifies $8 Canada shipping even with paypal check out. I don't think the trick works anymore, unless that $8 magically disappear at the end :(

    It's always disappeared for me in the years that I've ordered, last time I ordered was months ago though. When I checked out, the $8 was always there, but never on my final invoice.
